Overview

Phoenix Online Publishing is the publishing division of Phoenix Online Studios, an independent game development company that grew out of the King’s Quest fan game community.¹²³ The label focuses on narrative-driven adventure games for Windows, macOS, and mobile platforms.⁴⁵⁶

Sierra Connection

Phoenix Online Publishing has deep roots in Sierra’s legacy.⁷⁸⁹ The studio began as the team behind The Silver Lining, an ambitious fan-made continuation of the King’s Quest series that was eventually released with Activision’s blessing in 2010.¹⁰¹¹

The publishing arm later partnered with legendary Sierra designer Jane Jensen to publish her post-Sierra projects, including the Gabriel Knight 20th Anniversary Edition remake and original titles through her Pinkerton Road Studio.¹²¹³
